Baker (Part-Time)

Position Summary:

The baker will bake, store and package all dessert recipes according to Sugar Puddin’ Desserts standards and time guidelines.

The baker will also be responsible for maintaining the required par levels and will bake accordingly. It will be the baker's responsibility to keep the baking stations clean, sanitized and running efficiently, as well as tracking inventory and ordering of groceries and baking materials.

  • 15-20 hours per week
  • Kitchen experience preferred
  • Starting pay $11/hour; $15/hour after 60 days


-Experience working in a restaurant or bakery back-of-house

-Food Handlers license (preferred)

-Possesses a strong sense of teamwork

-Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly

-Has integrity and takes initiative

-Has a strong attention to detail and leans toward perfectionism 

-Has the ability to work well under pressure without getting easily frustrated

-Possesses strong physical stamina and can stand for up to 6 hours

-Finds comfort doing repetitious work

-Has a strong sense of pride in one's work

-Has great organizational skills

-Feels the necessity to keep a clean work environment

-Ability to multitask while paying special attention to detail

-Possesses ability to foresee

-Must have reliable transportation; bakery is located on the DART Rail Line in Downtown Dallas.


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

-Abide by all Sugar Puddin’ Desserts’ policies and procedures

-Uphold Sugar Puddin’ Desserts’ image and brand

-Assist other departments when necessary

-Put baked goods away and rotate products in wet and dry storage according to Sugar Puddin’ Desserts’ standards

-Maintain refrigeration logs

-Communicate with management about equipment including problems and maintenance

-Bake desserts by diligently following recipes

-Prepare and package desserts according to Sugar Puddin' Desserts' standards

-Fold boxes, label containers,

-Prepare packages for shipments and delivery

-Track inventory of baked goods

-Order and receive groceries and deliveries

-Provide management with a daily production sheet

-Keep baking area clean and sanitized including tables, equipment and tools
